This Saturday, September 15, is the Ocean Conservancy’s 27th Annual Coastal Cleanup. SCCF (Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation) is spear-heading the local island effort to rid the coastlines and waterways of marine litter, pollution, and debris. The numbers of sales this year is up in all categories. For 1/1/12-9/1/12 there have been 153 closed condo sales with 10 more under contract. For the same period in 2011 there were 134 closed sales. The storm stayed at tropical wind speeds while off our coast so we had no major problems with the storm. Most Sanibel businesses were closed on Monday, but reopened on Tuesday.
