Sanibel City Budget

Kudos to the Sanibel city council for managing to tighten their budget and reduce the tax millage rate this year.  Unlike Lee County who has used up their reserve money to balance their budget for two years now, Sanibel was able to actually add money to their reserve fund, which is an important fund needed during hurricane season and other unplanned disasters. ... Isaac

The storm stayed at tropical wind speeds while off our coast so we had no major problems with the storm.  Most Sanibel businesses were closed on Monday, but reopened on Tuesday.  This storm really covered a huge area; we were still getting gusty winds and rain last night, but the sun is shining today and things are back to normal. ...
