Coastal Cleanup

This Saturday, September 15, is the Ocean Conservancy’s 27th Annual Coastal Cleanup.  SCCF (Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation) is spear-heading the local island effort to rid the coastlines and waterways of marine litter, pollution, and debris.  This effort helps protect the sea turtles, shorebirds and other wildlife that might be affected by the debris.  Last year almost 90 volunteers logged 270 hours during Coastal Cleanup on the Islands.  Stop by SCCF at 9AM to get your clean-up gear and assignment and meet back up at noon for lunch.  This is a great way to spend a Saturday morning and protect our wildlife.
