Sanibel Historical Museum

There is a new addition to our local historical village.  Last Friday one of Sanibel’s early landmarks called Shore Haven was loaded on a barge from its bayfront location and moved up the bay to the end of Dixie Beach Road.  Then Tuesday night it was trucked to the Sanibel Historical Museum off Dunlop Road.  Of course this necessitated the power company dismantling power lines and reconnecting after it passed.  It took all night, but was finally completed at 8AM Wednesday when all power was restored.  Shore Haven was a 1924 Sears Roebuck kit house and is the eighth historical building to be added to the museum site.  It will be restored to its original state.
