Sanibel Shell Fair

Mark your calendars! The annual Shell Fair and Show returns to the Sanibel Community Center March 7-9. There will be prize-winning shell specimens on display, educational exhibits, plus lots of shell arts and crafts. You can always find some unique items at the show. Blind Pass Dredging

The process of keeping Blind Pass open continues. Beginning today, the Lee County Department of Natural Resources’ contractor will begin maintenance dredging along the inside of Blind Pass (north side of bridge). Sanibel Beach Walks

Located at 3111 West Gulf Drive, ths Island Inn will be hosting SCCF (Sanibel Captiva Conservation Foundation) beach Walks on Tuesdays at 10AM. The guided walks will teach beachcombers to identify and learn about the local tides, currents and winds and their effect on our beaches. Sanibel Enters Guinness Book of World Records

Last spring almost 500 registered participants and (300 plus unregistered) gathered at Bowman’s Beach to break the world record for “largest treasure hunt game.” Everyone joined together to do the “Sanibel Stoop” to hunt for sea shells.  The record hunt has now been certified and entered into the record books.  Congratulations to all who participated!
