The numbers are in for 2012 and things are looking up in our local real estate market. There were 181 homes sold with an average price of $825,837 (+.64% from 2011). There have been 171 closed homes sales so far with 20 more under contract, compared to 179 all of last year. The average sales price is up slightly from 2011…a good sign for our market. Last spring almost 500 registered participants and (300 plus unregistered) gathered at Bowman’s Beach to break the world record for “largest treasure hunt game.” Everyone joined together to do the “Sanibel Stoop” to hunt for sea shells.
