I was just reading an interesting article in one of our local papers. The Sanibel Sea School students were studying tides and currents, and more specifically how tarpon larvae flow with the currents. They painted 30 coconuts bright pink and orange, numbered them and tagged them with their phone number/email and released them last Thursday just off the Gulf shore of Sanibel. A day later they received the first call that someone had found one of their coconuts in Naples. Over the weekend they got 18 more calls from people who had found the coconuts on several beaches in Naples and Keewaydin Island, south of Naples. I guess what we do here on Sanibel directly impacts Naples!
