Oyster Eating Contest

This Saturday is the 3rd annual oyster eating contest to be held at The Timbers Restaurant on Sanibel from 11AM-2PM.  Contestants will compete to see how many oysters they can eat in one minute.  Last year’s record was 48…that’s a lot of oysters to slurp down in 60 seconds! Read More »


Sanibel Fish House

Ate at this new restaurant yesterday and had a great meal.  It wasn’t very crowded, probably because few people are aware it has opened.  It’s in the old McT’s Shrimp House and the building  has been extensively remodeled and updated.  I highly recommend it! Read More »

New Sanibel Restaurant

The Corner Grill has finally opened on the corner of Tarpon Bay Road and Periwinkle.  It has been totally remodeled inside and out and looks great.  They have a very extensive menu with good prices.  My lunch was good, but the service was slow, although the place was packed.   Hopefully, service will improve once they iron out the new opening kinks.
