Sanibel & Captiva – A Great Neighborhood
Islands are usually celebrated as offering beachfront pleasures and exciting adventures. Sanibel and Captiva offer all of that but so much more. They are a community first – a neighborhood where people live, work and play. They have their own government and essential services such as police, fire, water, electricity and schools. It’s where people own property and live their island lives. It’s nice that there are miles of beach and bike paths, wonderful shops and excellent restaurants but the islands are, essentially, a country neighborhood. A place with two-lane roads, no traffic lights or big chain stores but lots of houses and condominiums for people to live in. Real estate on the islands is a vibrant market. Its value is relatively secure because of the amount of sanctuary land on the islands.
