Boston Red Sox

The grand opening of the new spring training complex JetBlue Park at Fenway South will be Saturday, February 25 at 11:30.  The ceremony will be followed by an open house where the public can walk freely around the park and enjoy concessions and entertainment.  That same day will be the first full squad workout for the 2012 team.  Go Sox! Free Admission

 In honor of the 75th Annual Sanibel Shell Fair and Show, the Bailey Matthews Shell Museum is offering visitors free admission next Monday, February 27 from 10AM to 5 PM. Captiva Bank

Bank of the Islands has officially opened its new branch on Captiva next to the US Post Office.  It is a full service branch offering all banking services including loans and an ATM.  Captivans can now bike to the bank instead of driving to Sanibel…a real plus with the seasonal traffic as bad as it is now. Sanibel Shellabration

Kudos to Sanibel School

Our on-island school was just rated #1 in the state by the Florida Department of Education.  It was the top rated combination school for elementary and middle school students.  This is the first time the DOE has posted its best to worst rankings of the 3,078 public schools in the state and the Sanibel School was the only Lee or Collier County...
